What we covered

  • Feed The Valley: our first event on 9/12 fed 53 people healthy meals; the next one is still being planned.
  • Bake sale: Saturday 9/26, selling cookies and brownies to fund Feed The Valley and other events.
  • Volunteering: our first service event, Saturday 9/26, 9:30–10:30 AM at the Aggieland Humane Society.
  • Tree planting program: a new partnership with TAMU professors and the City of College Station offering students an extra-credit chance to donate $1 and plant a tree on public land.
  • Jeopardy: we wrapped up with a game.

What we covered

  • Who we are: a social-service org and 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings food lovers together and fights food insecurity in the Brazos Valley.
  • Meet the officers: all ten officers introduced themselves.
  • Social and service: potlucks, cookouts, and restaurant outings, plus volunteering with the Brazos Valley Food Bank, other food banks and kitchens, and the Aggieland Humane Society.
  • Upcoming events: officers pitched our bake sales, volunteer shifts, and socials.
  • Membership: 3 meetings, 1 fundraiser, 1 service event, and 2 Feed The Valley events per semester, plus $20 semester dues.
  • Feed The Valley: our new program that cooks healthy meals from bulk ingredients and hands them out, with free health screenings and Narcan, in homeless-heavy areas of the Brazos Valley.
